Norselab is now a Certified B Corporation™, joining the global community of businesses meeting high standards of social and environmental impact.
Leading Nordic impact investment platform Norselab announces its B Corporation certification. The certification marks a great milestone for the asset manager on a mission to prove that impact is the future of investments across asset classes.
For a more sustainable and inclusive economy
The B Corp Certification is awarded by B Lab™, an independent, non-profit organization, after a thorough assessment of a company’s commitment to social responsibility, stakeholder governance, transparency, and accountability. By certifying as a B Corp™, Norselab joins a global community of businesses using their influence to create a more sustainable and inclusive economy. This entails a legal commitment to stakeholder governance, a growing corporate governance alternative to shareholder primacy that considers the interests of all stakeholders in their business operations: workers, customers, communities, and the environment alike.
- Certifying as a B Corp is an important step on our journey towards creating a meaningful future for all. We need resolute action to fight climate change, restore biodiversity, clean up our environment, and create a world of equal chances. As an asset manager dedicated to positive impact, we are proud to be part of the B Corp Community and help shape a future where business becomes a force for good, shares Norselab Partner and Chief Impact Officer, Maria de Perlinghi.
As part of the certification process, all B Corps sign the Declaration of Interdependence, embracing a global economy where businesses are purpose-driven and prioritize benefits for all stakeholders. This commitment reflects Norselab’s belief in sparking the change the world needs and acting with the understanding that we are all interdependent and collectively responsible for the well-being of people and the planet.
- As a strategic partner with a 20% stake in Norselab, we congratulate Norselab on achieving B Corp Certification. This milestone reflects Norselab’s commitment to spark positive change and making a meaningful impact. As a fellow B Corp, we look forward to continuing to support Norselab’s efforts as they join the collective pursuit of responsible and impactful business practices that characterize the B Corp Community, shares Michaela Edwards, Partner at Capricorn Investment Group.
Certifying as a B Corp means Norselab steps into a framework for continuous improvement. In the assessment process, Norselab notably achieved the highest score for “mission-lock” in the assessment, as the firm has embedded its purpose to contribute to positive social and environmental change into the governing documents. However, there is still progress to be made to improve the firm’s approach to sustainability, particularly on operational aspects. Norselab has developed a roadmap of improvements to consider over the next few years. To uphold its certification, Norselab will undertake the assessment and verification process every three years, ensuring that the company meets evolving standards set by B Lab.
Notable B Corporation peers include Summa Equity, Eutopia, Rubio, MMC Venture, Bethnal Green Ventures, and Revent.
