Norselab further strengthens impact team, welcomes two new talents
Sustainability professionals Inès van Tol and Christiaan Griffejoen join Norselab’s pursuit of impact across asset classes.
In response to increased activity, Norselab expands its impact team, welcoming two Impact Analysts, Inès van Tol and Christiaan Griffejoen, this January.
The two newcomers will be part of the team that ensures Norselab’s integrity on impact across the asset manager’s various funds, ensuring that commitments are translated into action and implemented into the firm’s everyday operations.
Inès van Tol, an MSc graduate in International Sustainability Management from ESCP Business School in Paris and Berlin, joins Norselab from Storebrand’s Risk and Ownership team. Coming from Storebrand, a prominent player in the Nordic market for long-term savings and insurance, Inès brings valuable sustainability insights from within the financial sector. With her academic background and experience as a student consultant, Inès brings particular capabilities within sustainability strategy and value creation, as well as sustainability reporting.
In her role, Inès will contribute broadly to Norselab’s impact strategy, and focus particularly on regulatory aspects and reporting, as well as impact assessments and value creation in the growth equity portfolio.
- Like many others, I am pulled towards challenges that match my values. I’m therefore thrilled to be part of the team that assesses impact of investments into Norselab’s funds, and to directly assist innovative scale-ups in upping their impact potential, Inès says.
Christiaan Griffejoen, a MSc graduate in Sustainable Finance from BI Norwegian Business School, joins Norselab from sustainability consultancy and software provider Position Green. Christiaan brings strong ESG analysis skills, and a solid foundation in sustainable finance more generally. In addition, Christiaan has a background from the Dutch national sailing team, with the collaboration and communication skills required in high-performing teams.
Christiaan will work on maintaining and further developing the impact integration methods for Norselab’s various products, with a particular focus on impact data analysis, alongside screening and assessment of potential investments-
- I’m eager to help Norselab prove that impact is the future of investments across asset classes. The key role of the impact team in the funds’ investment processes really sets Norselab apart from other investment managers, which was the main motivation for me joining the team, Christiaan shares.
All Norselab funds are categorized as SFDR Article 9, and the new hires will play key roles in building a comprehensive understanding and adherence to Meaningfulness, Norselab’s overall impact approach. Their responsibilities include contributing to the development of Norselab’s Sustainability Policy, frameworks, impact assessment methods, and measuring- and reporting schemes in line with current regulations, with a particular focus on SFDR and industry standards.
- We’re delighted to welcome Inès and Christiaan to our impact team. Their diverse and complementary backgrounds in sustainability will undoubtedly strengthen Norselab Group and our ability to drive meaningful impact across investment strategies, says Maria de Perlinghi, Partner and Chief Impact Officer at Norselab.
van Tol and Griffejoen started their new positions at Norselab on January 8.
