Norselab becomes a signatory of the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment

Oct 8, 2020

As part of their commitment to investing in growth companies with positive impact on people and the planet, Norselab announces that they have become a signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) as of September 4th.

The PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investments. It works to support a global network of investor signatories in understanding and implementing environmental, social and governance factors into their investment practices, analysis and decision-making processes. The six Principles for Responsible Investment offer an aspirational set of guidelines for the signatories, and are designed to contribute to a more sustainable global financial system.

Norselab is Norway’s leading investor for meaningful technology companies. Since its inception, Norselab has sought to invest in industry-related, data-driven growth companies whose business models are designed to create net positive impact for people and the planet. Norselab’s Meaningfulness Policy is central in their commitment to investing in companies who put sustainability at the heart of their strategy. While creating services that are better for customers, employees and the environment, such impact native companies are also more likely to deliver superior long term returns for investors. The policy sets forth Norselab’s principles for implementing industry-leading practices for sustainable investments, including the six foundational principles of the PRI. It fully recognizes Norselab’s responsibility for advancing the SDGs through their investments, and insists on the opportunities that will open to players who embrace this responsibility.

- Norselab’s long term vision is to achieve balance between thriving business, happy people and a healthy planet. Joining the PRI was a natural choice to underscore our commitment to creating a more sustainable future through responsible investments. We are excited to be part of a global network who shares our belief that, in our future world, creating superior returns will only be possible when we invest in companies that contribute to positive environmental and societal returns, says Maria de Perlinghi, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at Norselab.

- We are thrilled to welcome Norselab as a PRI signatory. In joining PRI, Norselab is recognising the importance of incorporating ESG factors into its investment and ownership decisions in Norway and beyond. We look forward to working with the team, shares Fiona Reynolds, CEO of the PRI.

Norselab will be working closely with the PRI team to ensure that the implementation of the principles follow current best practices.
