3D-Radar has pioneered next generation 3D Ground Penetrating Radar (3D GPR) using step frequency radar technology and innovative multi channel antenna design.
3D radar was founded by Egil Eide (PhD) to commercialize radar technology developed through NTNU university research. Their patented radar device combines an array of sensors, simultaneously emitting radio signals on several frequencies, enabling them to produce granular 3D-models of sub-surface areas.
Their unique competitive edge is that their device can be mounted on a range of vehicles, soon including drones, and perform a scan while the vehicle is driving in the same pace as general traffic. This makes the process of mapping infrastructure like roads, bridges and tunnels highly automated and efficient compared to current market standards. While above mentioned infrastructure is their current target market, their technology is also applicable in other markets, like civilian demining and agriculture soil mapping.
